Breath of Life - A Yogic Pranayama Workshop
Our breath and proper breath techniques are the key to health, vitality, calmness of mind, and emotional equanimity in life. It prepares the body & mind to more easily access deeper states of meditation and is essential on the path of deepening a Yoga practice. We can use Pranayama techniques to ease overactive emotions as they arise, as well as to gently uncover and release old, stuck emotions. This workshop covers the basic philosophies, effects, contraindications and proper techniques of a variety of beginner to intermediate classical Hatha Yoga Pranayamas. We will explore cooling, calming breath techniques to ease and release feelings like anger; warming, active techniques to burn away feelings like lethargy and depression; grounding techniques for when you are feeling unpresent or anxious; as well as techniques for overall balance.
